Who is BTA ?

BTA (Scientific Theatre Workshop) is a semi-professional theatre group announced itself on the 22nd May 2000 in İZMİR, TURKEY.

Hayrettin Filiz, graduated from Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts 'Dramatic Authorship Department' is the founder of BTA.

After having worked for Municipality of Bornova for five years and setting up there a Children's Theatre Section , H.Filiz decided to establish an independent local theatre in Bornova, İzmir.

BTA works with children (aged +7) and young people (aged over 14). CHILDREN'S THEATRE MUST BE PRODUCED BY CHILDREN is its starting point.

BTA aims to be a cultural and reformist organization and wishes to serve Turkish theatre as a lab by the means of untested methods , unimproved subjects laying special emphasis on linguistic studies.

BTA TEAM also believes that Children's theatre should support their education and guide them to get prepared for the future.
